Box Elder Bowl Blank 260 x 85mm (wet)

Highly Figured Box Elder Timber

Let the grain do the talking with this highly figured Box Elder—a beautiful choice for woodturners looking to create something special.

Box Elder (Acer negundo) is a maple species native to North America. Its pale cream tones provide a striking backdrop for flowing grain and natural figure, with some pieces also displaying distinctive pink or red streaks.

Lightweight and relatively soft, it is a great choice for decorative bowls, platters, hollow forms and lidded boxes. Sharp tools and light finishing cuts help achieve a clean surface through the figured grain, allowing its natural character to shine.

Every piece is different, with colour and figure varying throughout the timber—giving each finished project its own individual character.

Please note: All timber cuts are subject to a tolerance of up to 5mm.

Timber is a natural product, and characteristics such as colour, grain, texture, and appearance may vary between pieces.
