Whitebait Huon Pine is a rare and captivating variation of Huon Pine (Lagarostrobos franklinii), featuring subtle, silvery-white streaks referred to as "whitebait figuring." These streaks lend each piece a graceful, almost ethereal quality

Huon Pine itself is often called "the prince of Tasmanian timbers" because of its fine, even grain, glowing golden colour, natural preserving oils, remarkable durability, and endearing fragrance that infuses freshly cut surfaces.

The "whitebait" figuring is extraordinarily rare—supplies are scarce, and veneer with this pattern is often described as nearly impossible to come by. Only limited sheets (e.g., around 20 available in one offering) are currently in stock.1

Huon Pine’s rarity is underscored by its slow growth; the species can take around 500 years to reach a harvestable size. Most of the existing resource comes from salvaged logs—found in river beds, forest floors, or areas impacted by hydroelectric works. Regeneration and conservation efforts are ongoing.

Please note: All timber cuts are subject to a tolerance of up to 5mm.
