SK1 Oak Spoon Carving Knife

The SK1 Oak Spoon Carving Knife is an upgraded take on the classic hook knife, purpose-built for carving spoons, bowls, kuksas, and other rounded or detailed woodworking projects. With a 25 mm rounding diameter, it’s ideally suited for shaping small items in both soft and hardwoods. Its U-shaped, single-edged carbon steel blade allows for precise, controlled cuts—especially when used with one hand pressing atop the blade for added accuracy.

Specifications:

  • Total length: 165 mm

  • Rounding diameter: 25 mm

  • Handle length: 110 mm

  • Handle material: Oak

  • Blade material: High carbon steel (single-edged)

Blade Care Instructions:
This knife features a high carbon steel blade, known for its sharpness and durability but also its susceptibility to rust if not cared for properly. Avoid placing it in a dishwasher or leaving it in water. Clean with a damp cloth, dry thoroughly, and consider applying a light coat of vegetable oil after each use. If rust appears, gently remove it with steel wool and re-oil the blade. Regular honing will help maintain its edge. Over time, the blade will develop a natural patina, a sign of age and character.
