Our Introduction to Bowl Turning workshop is the perfect follow-up to the Introduction to Woodturning, giving you the chance to apply your foundational skills to create your very own stunning wooden bowl! In this hands-on workshop, we’ll guide you through the exciting process of transforming a simple piece of timber into a beautifully crafted, finished bowl.

Here’s what we’ll cover during this immersive experience:

• Lathe Safety & Refresher: Start with a quick safety recap to ensure you’re confident and comfortable with the lathe.
• Chucks and Timber Holding Techniques: Learn about the different types of chucks and how to securely hold timber in the lathe for precise turning.
• Shaping & Design Techniques: Explore the art of shaping and designing your bowl, from the first cut to the final shape.
• Sanding & Finishing: Master the finishing touches with expert sanding techniques to achieve a smooth, polished surface that brings your bowl to life.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a finished wooden bowl that you’ve designed, shaped, and crafted all by yourself – a true testament to your newfound skills!
